Quality

Pictured to my left is an old tape measure that was rescued from an estate. The manufacturer went to great lengths to insure the quality of the product. The component parts are sturdy, the case is made of steel, and the product is surrounded with leather ... oh, one more thing. It was made in the U.S.A. Below I have pictured a standard tape measure that you might buy at Home Depot. It was likely made in China. It only cost me 8 bucks. It's a decent tool. You can see I dropped it in some grout or something. It still works OK. If it breaks ... Home Depot is around the corner. It will only cost another 8 to 12 bucks to replace. Whatever ... we're a disposable society ... right? Do you see the problem here? The product below will last five or so years and then get replaced. The product above will last 200 years. It's products like the one pictured above that allows for shows like "Pawn Stars" and "Antique Roads Show" to exist. We used to make stuff ... good stuff! It's actually kind of sad.

This is the reason I decided to make the Golden Swing Thing here in the United States. Made in the USA used to be a banner of quality. I would like to contribute something to restore that sense of quality.

For a limited time, you can get a FREE Golden Swing Thing. Click on the picture above to find out how.

Why did I join Send Out Cards?

As we have moved into the Facebook age, we have stumbled full face into the instant connection kind of world. Outside of relatives and close friends we no longer have addresses of people we may need to count on in the future. Have you ever lost a cell phone? ... Oh wow that never ends good ... I think we all have had that sense of dread. Have you backed up your cell phone contacts lately? It may be a good idea. Otherwise we have to rebuild our social network ... how many of those phone numbers can you remember?

A nice card from someone that says, "If you ever need something, I'm here for you. Here is my phone and address." There ... now you have a hard copy of someone's location in case you had to find them ... shelter them ... or take shelter with them. I'm not trying to sound ominous or alarmist. I'm optimistically saying that we should reach out to people with personal written messages. There are things we want to say to people in our lives that are above and beyond a wall posting on a Facebook ... or even beyond an email message. To me, Facebook has become so ubiquitous that the ease of communication has led to a cheapening of the communication in general. Facebook has become a tool to advertise our own ego inspired sense of social dexterity. I think most folks would agree that not every "friend" on Facebook should have your address. Sometimes we end up with acquaintances ... friends of friends. There's nothing wrong with that. Take Facebook for what it is and return to the real connections in our lives.  I myself have let my hard wired connections go lax.. I'm trying to rebuild them with a return to my handwritten address book and my own Send Out Cards network.

Facebook has connected me with people that I lost track of years ago. These were really cool people, that, at the time, I would have nearly trusted my life with them. But we lose track of people ... especially in the restaurant biz.. I like Send Out Cards because it has the potential to re-connect individuals to individuals in the actual world ... not the virtual world.

In a way, it's an austerity movement.

That is my altruistic reason for joining Send Out Cards.

The other reason: Establishing a network of individuals, developing people, and developing market penetration with those people, is the purest form of capitalism. So ... I'm all for it. I think that we have lost the art of the anticipation of a communication ... communication doesn't always have to be instant! A heartfelt note is irreplaceable. Yes, Send Out Cards is a network marketing company. I have mostly steered clear of network markets. I was exposed to Amway way back in the late 1970's and steered clear of the company for one main reason. I was never a "rah! rah! come to my meeting" kind of guy ... I'm still not. If you want to join my network great ... if not, so be it. There was also another dig I had against network marketing companies. Even though the quality of the products was always high, the price of the product was also high ... that is unless you joined the distribution network. I have no problem paying a premium for a superior product. But if I could get a high quality product and deliver it to consumer for less than he or she would pay at the normal retail level, then that would be powerful. This is what Send Out Cards does. You can go to my retail site right now and send a card for $2.99. How much is a card at the drug store? ... more than that ... I guarantee it! I encourage you to do so.

Please go to my retail site and send a card. As of right now, I will donate 50% of the retail profits from my site to the goldengolf charitable trust. This trust will donate to charitable organizations of my choosing. I am currently scouting a good veterans organization. I will likely donate a large portion of the trust to The First Tee. I believe that the game of golf should be passed on to future generations. As I build my network, I will up my percentages to the charitable trust. Eventually, I will donate 100% of my retail profits to charity.

Think about it.

For now, go to my site and send out a free card to someone in your life that may need to hear from you. Once you see how easy it is to send a card, you will want to send more. I would love to have you as a valued retail customer. I am also looking for valued distributors. I will send one of my Golden Swing Things to each of the first twelve people to sign up as a distributor in my network.

Click on the logo, go to my site, and send a card on me. Reach out to someone.

Us The Lobby

This is a site dedicated to the people. We are the biggest lobby ... not the corporation ... not the union ... not the special interest. It is up to US to demand that those who represent US are loyal to US!
